Analysis of the Completion Time of Markov Reward Models

چکیده
Analysis of Markov Reward Models (MRM) with preemptive resume (prs) policy usually results in a double transform expression, whose solution is based on the inverse transformations both in time and reward variable domain. This paper discusses the case when the reward rates can be either 0 or positive, and analyses the completion time of MRMs. We present a symbolic expression of moments of the completion time, from which a computationally eeective recursive numerical method can be obtained. As a numerical example the mean and the standard deviation of the completion time of a Carnegie-Mellon multiprocessor system are evaluated by the proposed method.

On-o Markov Reward Models
The analysis of Markov Reward Models with preemptive resume policy usually results in a double transform expression, whose solution is based on an inverse transformation, both in the time and in the reward variable domains. This paper discusses the case when the reward rates can be described only by 0 or positive c values. These on-o Markov Reward Models are analyzed and a symbolic solution is ...
متن کاملCompletion Time in Markov Reward Models with Partial Incremental Loss
The completion time analysis of Markov reward models with partial incremental loss is provided in this paper. The complexity of the model behaviour requires the use of an extra (supplementary) variable.

Composite performance and dependability analysis is gaining importance in the design of complex, fault-tolerant systems. Markov reward models are most commonly used for this purpose. In this paper, an introduction to Markov reward models includ...
متن کاملPerformance Analysis of Markov Regenerative Reward
The problem considered in the paper can not be solved by the traditional technique available for the analysis of Markov Regenerative Processes (MRGP). The widely used description of MRGPs, i.e. by the local and the global kernels, do not contain su cient information on the process to evaluate the distribution of reward measures. A new analytical approach is proposed and studied to utilize bette...
